the foundation of construction is a shell made from 3mm sheet metal. The metal is laser-cut, rolled and welded into a shell, and the edges are hand-finished for ultimate quality control. The snare beds and edges in Totem snares are also hand-finished, ensuring each drum is crafted to perfection.
Totem snares offer a wide range of dynamics and versatility in various music genres. The use of Tohoop hoops in the Totem line enhances the snare’s attack while opening up the sound of the drum.
In addition to these features, Totem snares come with TOHOK single point lugs, made from high-quality brass.
The Totem line offers a choice of three materials for shell construction: carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Each material has its own unique characteristics. Carbon steel produces a dark, wide-ranging sound with a moderate amount of overtones. Stainless steel provides a slightly brighter sound than carbon steel and has a raw, unpolished feel. Aluminum produces a warm, balanced sound that combines the attributes of metal and wooden snares.
