The shell (14x8, 3 mm with 5 mm re-rings) and hoops are made of bronze, and the lugs are made of brass. Everything is coated with a matte powder coating with a fine texture. It is about to embark on a long journey to New Zealand 🇦🇺 A snare drum made to order for @mpscardenas . A 3mm titanium shell measuring 13"x7", with 6mm thick stainless steel hoops and stainless steel lugs. Such a thick titanium shell sounds pretty loud and incredibly distinct. It is also incredibly sensitive. My first impression after hitting it was reminiscent of bell brass, which surprised me a lot. This time we wanted to introduce you to a slightly This time we wanted to introduce you to a slightly different instrument than usual. We rarely make snare drums from stainless steel, and even more rarely entirely from stainless steel. The finish of this particular example (14x6.5) involved fire-treating the previously brushed stainless steel components (lugs, hoops, shell), and after passivation (cleaning and protecting the surface), waxing them seven times. Theoretically, due to the 2mm shell construction, the snare drum could be classified in the Topos collection, but we do not plan to build a second piece like this.
